Bannerghatta National Park, Bangalore

If you have tried the vast jungles of Jim Corbett Tiger Reserve or Ranthambore or more and yet you happened to satiate yourself with the paw or nail marks of the Tigers, here's your chance to see them up and close, at the Bannerghatta National Park at Bangalore! Located in the South of Bangalore city, the Tiger and Lion reserve has Indian Tigers, white tigers, leopards, bears and so many other wild life species. It is an amazing treasure spread in about 25,000 acres.

Accessibility to the park is easy. There are many city buses other than taxis etc. that take straight to the park. The cover charge for the park is very reasonable Rs. 135/- per head. There are mini buses safaris covered with grills for your safety that allow you to tryst with the majestic animals. The journey begins with the sight of deer herds, neelguy, cheetals and sambhars. But soon the landscape of these timid animals change and you can look right into the
eyes of the ferocious feline animals. It is an awesome breathtaking experience to see the Tigers and Lions at an arm’s length. tigers

Besides, other wild animals, there is also a worth seeing butterfly garden developed with the support of Dept. of Biotechnology. There are separate entry and camera ch
arges for the butterfly conservatory, but it is definitely worth it. Beautiful flora, waterfalls and the controlled climatic conditions have bred innumerable butterflies fluttering all around. There are mango and tamarind trees in the lush green milieu. If you are lucky you will be able to pick some fruits gifted right from the nature.

There is also a zoo and an aquarium to add to the diversity of the National Park.  There you can see white Peacocks dance around while so many other birds with vibrant colors. Jumbo ride adds to the enriching experience with fun. Timings to visit the park are 9am to 5 pm. Tuesdays the park is closed.
