Even the most placid people get pulled into this vicious circle for survival, with the fear of being left out or just to retain what they have earned. When we are under stress our brain releases certain chemicals to deal with that. Prolonged or repetitive stress makes those chemicals stay in our body which can be adverse to our health affecting any system of our body.

We must notice what aggravates our stress levels. Pissed off bosses, bad appraisals, unapproved plans, rejections...if we are unable to make it our way, we have to learn to let it go.
At this juncture, many companies have started looking into healthy and happy employees as one of the key assets. Companies invest in exploring better ways for keeping their personnel healthy- beyond the medical basket. Management does realize that key to financial health of the companies is a healthy workforce.
Long term effects of working in 24X7 environments can be quite stressful and adverse to health. There must be preventive and wellness measures adapted to combat stress or other occupational hazards due to work pressure, odd or extended hours of work. Healthy Diet, regular exercise, stress management, rest breaks and recreational exercises, holidaying are a few of them.
