Wedding invites that are unique and eco-friendly

Preparation of wedding begins with wedding invites. Majority people are seen now-a-days to spend enormous on wedding invitations, esp. when it comes to Indian weddings. Gold, silver, metallic colors, heavy papers soaked in heavy inks. The add-ons are some heavy showiness through colored beads, buttons and what not! This all requires heavy envelopes, heavy postage and heavy fuel for distribution too. Time to unwind and lighten up! Think fresh, think green and draw inspiration from old and ancient wisdom or just go tech-savvy.

Here is what all you can do make your wedding invites stand unique, personalized and most of it all make them eco-friendly.

  • Avoid Heaviness. Breathe. Heavy is Tacky. Your invites are not a showcase of your wealth needing all gold and silver and jewelry adornment.
  • Avoid a whole list of invitees. Yes, there is a culture of inviting all and sundry as it is rare occasion, it is reciprocation or it is sharing joys with people and showing warmth, hospitality and may be even opulence. But your short list will also help the function go more organized, smooth and elite.
  • Use minimum ink and if possible use vegetable dyes
  • Use hand made or recycled paper. There is also paper made from dung that can be used artfully. After the wedding it is all a waste. Right! So it better be organic
  • Use scrolls made of handloom. Silk, cotton or other fabrics used to be there in the ancient times too.
  • Use other natural fibers such as Jute, Bamboo, and Coconut etc. for custom designed cards
  • Remember the text written through quill. You can recreate that ancient magic through such calligraphic styles on palm leaves
  • If you are the one whose heart still wants some festooning. There can be seeds, grains and other natural and organic products which you can use to adorn your invites with. Yes the seeds would also encourage plantation.
  • E-Vite! Last but not the least; this is a beautiful way to inform the close and distant friends and relatives with a zero to minimal cost for production, distribution. No fuel and no time wastage too.

There are many custom service providers in this space. Go for a stylish and eco friendly wedding card which reflects your personality and concern for climate. Share more related information and ideas.
